We had a busy January here in Dunkeld Archive!
We began the first stage of our redevelopment project with a public consultation day and a formal evening launch event on the 17th of January . This included a display about our history as an organisation and an exhibition of some of our star aquisitions.
This event was a great success and we received some fabulous positive feedback from the community about our plans. We will keep you all updated in due course on how our redevelopment project is progressing.

Instead of a history talk in January we had a “Nicht Fou o’ Scots” to celebrate scottish traditions in song, poetry and storytelling. This was a fantastic event and was well enjoyed by all those who attended.

We have put together a new exhibition about Dunkeld and Birnam Golf club. Pop along to the archive to see it in person. Can you guess what these items are?

Our two clubs, Midweek Memories and Young Archaeologists’ Club continued in the new year. We have continued to gain new and interested members for each club and are excited to learn lots more with each group.
Midweek memories is held from 10-12 each Wednesday, all are welcome. Please contact the archive if you require transportation.
Young Archaeologists’ Club is held fortnightly on a Thursday from 4-5pm, please get in touch for session dates if you are interested in joining us.

Midweek memories deep in discussion
We had a student completing her dissertation visit us to use our Scottish Horse Regimental collection as part of her research. This used some of our Boer War enlistment records. An exciting topic!
If you are interested in using our collections for research please get in touch.
