Our new set up!
Continuing with our reorganising of the archive from last week (the creation of our dedicated shop area). We have also made some changes to the layout of our main room! We have created a more defined exhibition space which we hope will improve the visitor experience. This has also given us more space for our volunteers to work in.
Aside from the physical changes, there have been many other goings on in the archive this week.
Ruth our manager had a meeting with the games design team from Abertay University who are designing a historically themed interactive game for us to use in the archive. The progress update says that the game is going to plan!

Team Dunkeld from Abertay University when they visited the archive
Imogen went to the Museums Association members meeting which was held in Perth Museum on Wednesday. A great opportunity to find out about new things happening in the sector.
We celebrated a 90th birthday with our midweek memories club, Dorothy the birthday girl(and one of our loyal attendees) was happy to celebrate with her friends in the archive.

Our young archaeologists’ club had another visit from Bob the archaeologist this week. They were learning about desk based research before they begin their first excavation later this year.
We now also have a display section in the archive to show the great work our YAC have done. This has been decorated with some handmade bunting made by Molly who attends the club, isn’t it fab?
