Midweek Memories deep in discussion on Wednesday

This week included a lot of meetings! Imogen started the week by attending the Scottish Council on Archives Digital Archiving conference in Glasgow. This provided a fantatsic opportunity to see what the standards across the industry are and to interact with other groups and find out about their trials and tribulations in creating digital archives were.

We also had the Tayside Museums forum meeting which keep us up to date with museums across the region to find out about other local organisatations.  These forums were created by Museums Galleries Scotland.  Later this year we will be attending the interforum meeting to meet members of the other regional forums and find out what they have been up to.

Ruth also attended a meeting about regenerative tourism, this is a hot topic at the moment and hopefully will be bringing an event to the area later this year. Keep your eyes peeled for updates on this.

Our history talks are still on the go. Our talk this Friday is about Dundonnachie the Dunkeld Dissedent. Come along to the Duchess anne at 7:30pm to attend.

School reunion tickets are now on sale online via the birnam arts on in person at the community archive.  This is an afternoon tea which will be held on the 12th of April from 2-4pm and is for former pupils of the Royal School of Dunkeld from the 40s, 50s and 60s.

Imogen has been opening and locking up the cathedral this week as Julian has been on holiday, it was a great opportunity to see some of the local wildlife and have a look at a few particularly interesting gravestones within the grounds.
