This week has involved a lot of preparation and planning! Our young archaeologists begin their dig next week so we have been hard at work organising the plan for the excavation and getting all the necessary tools! We look forward to letting you know all about the dig when it happens.

Our last talk is tonight with Lesley Wilson in the Duchess Anne, come along to listen to Rivendell Stories – In their own words. It starts at 7:30pm and tickets cost £5.

The school reunion for Royal School of Dunkeld Pupils of the 1940s, 50s and 60s will be held in the Birnam Arts tomorrow. Tickets are £8 and some will be avaliable on the door. We have lots of lovely photographs to share with the attendees and can’t wait to hear your stories about your school days.

Our volunteers got stuck into some reorganising this week! Old research was filed away and interesting facts rediscovered. We used this oportunity to rehouse some documents that were in need of some TLC due to age, we packed some original Birnam Highland Games posters into large acid free pouches and moved them to a safe location where they can be stored flat with no friction.

We are in full swing organising our summer programme of events, we have decided not to host one large living history event this year. Instead we are hosting several smaller events across the summer months.  Keep your eyes peeled for new updates on what events are coming next! Updates will be via social media or our what’s on page .

Our first selection of Events feature some very exciting Vikings!
